 Political coalitions are a re-engineering of democracy

Coalitions are often good for politics. In the first place, they strip away at the hubris of political parties which have begun to feel they are invulnerable. In the second, they are a healthy sign of politics being re-energised through compelling political parties and politicians to come together in the broad national interest.
